Broc's Stuff

This page provides links to some things that Broc has used that a typical child might not.

Stander: Broc wasn't walking as early as a typical child would so we used a stander which would keep Broc in a standing position several times a day to help with bone growth.

DAFOs:Here are some pictures of foot supports that Broc wore to help with the positioning of his feet to help with walking. Also here is a link to a video of Broc taking his first few steps. The date of the video is June 12th, 2003 which is 3 days short of being one year that Broc has had seizures. So as you can see despite one year of seizures Broc does continues to develop he just does it at his pace.

Helment: Seizures and walking don't go well togeather and for that reason Broc needed to wear a helment for a while.

Bed: For a time Broc was getting up at night and our first indication was his head hitting the floor from a seizure. Our first solution was for him to sleep with us but we eventually got a canopy bed which was wonderful for us and Broc both.

Swing: Broc loves to swing. It's very calming for him.

Broc's Art: Twice we have entered Broc's artwork in the Expressions of Courage Art Contest for kids with Epilepsy and twice it has been selected for their coffee table book.

Broc: Some candid pictures of Broc.
